robin talks to Carolyn Jerome, one of the original Militant Mothers of Raymur, who in 1971 fought to have a pedastrian overpass built over the rail lines between Strathcona and East Van. They are hosting a public celebration to commemorate this 50 year old victory Saturday, May 7th.
robin shares information about National Awareness Day for MMIWG2S, and an event co-hosted by the Indigenous Student Centre (ISC) and the First Nation's, Métis, & Inuit Student Association (FNMISA) at the Social Stage in the SUB (3000) from 10 am - 3pm. There will be educational materials and crafts tables for creating Red Dress artwork, as well as providing bannock and coffee/tea. Wear red, hang a red dress in your office, and learn more to show support.
