It’s officially Black History Month and this month we honour the experiences, achievements and enduring contributions of Black communities in Canada, while deepening our collective understanding of their history and impact on Canadian society.

This week, Necole shares an interview with Justine A. Chambers where they chatted about Justine's upcoming show The Brutal Joy, showing at this year’s PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, in a co-presentation with The Dance Centre.

Necole also mentions a FREE event happening this Friday in celebration of Black History Month. On Friday February 6th from 1 to 4:00pm, the SFU Black Student Centre is having their  OPEN HOUSE at the Burnaby Campus

Celebrate the informal launch of SFU's Black Student Centre (BSC). This is an opportunity to explore the Black Student Centre  through guided tours, hear a panel of students discuss their lived experiences, participate in a Black healing circle, and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
