In Memoriam: Robin Eriksson (1964-2026)

We dedicate CJSF's 2026 Fundrive to the late Robin Eriksson, who passed away in early September following a battle with cancer.

Robin served as Programming Coordinator at CJSF 90.1 FM from 2016 to 2025; before joining CJSF, she was Program Director at CKUW 95.9 FM, based out of the University of Winnipeg. You can read CKUW's obituary for Robin here: https://ckuw.ca/news/rip-robin-eriksson.

Among her many achievements in the field of community radio in Canada (for which she was recognized by the National Campus and Community Radio Association in 2025 as a Community Radio Legend), Robin played a pivotal role in shaping Fundrive at CJSF from its inception. Under her guidance, it became more than just a fundraiser for the station, but a celebration of community - something we carry forward to this day, as Fundrive enters its 9th year at here at CJSF.

Robin is survived by her life partner, her sister, and a large network of family and friends across the country; we will miss her dearly.

Robin's Shows on CJSF
Robin hosted a number of shows herself during her time at CJSF, including Roots and Berries (a music program dedicated to bluegrass and similar genres of banjo and fiddle music, one of Robin's great passions), as well as various episodes of IntraVenus (a "Women & Gender Radio" show, as described on its program page) - follow these links to visit these shows' archives on cjsf.ca.
