- Gloria Baylis won the first-ever case of employment-related racial discrimination in Canada and later founded the Baylis Medical Company

- Dr. Yabome Gilpin-Jackson is the Vice President of People, Equity & Inclusion at SFU and founder of Supporting Learning and Development Consulting Inc. 

- Debby Friday is an electronic musician, producer, songwriter and filmmaker based in Toronto.  Her second album, The Starrr of the Queen of Life was released on August 1, 2025 through Royal Mountain Records and Sub Pop
