CJSF 90.1’s The Jazz Spectrum are pleased to announce the nominees for the 5th annual Julian Award of Excellence for Emerging Canadian Jazz Artists, known simply as The Julian Award.

The Julian Award recognizes and promotes young and emerging Canadian jazz talent who have created original work. This year's nominees are: Matt Choboter’s Full Fathom (Vancouver), Samskaras; Gray Matter (Toronto), Footsteps; Tara Kannangara (Toronto), Some Version of Truth; and The Christian Overton Quintet (Toronto), The Test. 

The winner will receive $500 and the 1st runner up will receive $250.
